League Information
Everything you need to know about RCYS
Our youngest players learn the fundamentals of softball in a fun, low-pressure environment. T-League focuses on:
- Basic batting skills using a tee
- Fielding and throwing fundamentals
- Base running basics
- Teamwork and sportsmanship
Parents are on the field with their children, helping guide them through each play. Games are non-competitive with an emphasis on participation and learning. Every player bats each inning!
Food & Concessions
Please do not bring outside food into the park. RCYS relies on concession sales to help keep league fees affordable.
Pets
Pets are not permitted in the park. Licensed service animals are allowed.
Tobacco, Alcohol & Drugs
Bethel Park is a tobacco-free zone. Alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.
RCYS follows modified ASA (USA Softball) rules appropriate for each age group. Key points include:
- All players present will bat in a continuous batting order
- Free defensive substitution is allowed
- Run rules and inning limits vary by division
- Coaches pitch to their players in all Divisions
- Metal cleats are not permitted in any division
Required for all players:
- Glove (sized appropriately for age/hand size)
- Athletic shoes or rubber cleats (no metal cleats)
- Team jersey (provided by RCYS)
Optional but recommended:
- Batting gloves
- Sliding shorts
- Protective face mask
- Personal bat (ages 7–18 must use USA Softball or ASA certified bats)
Player evaluations help us build balanced teams. During evaluations, we assess:
- Throwing accuracy and arm strength
- Fielding ground balls and fly balls
- Batting mechanics and contact
- Base running speed
Evaluations are required for Divisions 1, 3, 4, and 5. T-League players do not require evaluation.
Our concession stand operates during all game days, offering:
- Hamburgers, Hot dogs, nachos, and snacks
- Candy and chips
- Cold drinks, water, and sports drinks
- Coffee (for those early morning games!)
All proceeds support RCYS operations and field improvements.
